Balancing the demands of college life can be difficult. In addition to academic requirements, there are financial pressures, relationship concerns, and job stressors that can leave you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. The Counseling Center staff can help you find ways to manage difficult times and provide you with a comforting place to examine your life and learn more about yourself so you can realize your potential. Students are encouraged to make an appointment for their initial visit by calling us at 303-615-9988. The Counseling Center is closed everyday for lunch from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (except Summer Semester).

Our regular business hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mental health emergencies can also be addressed after 5:00 p.m., weekends, and holidays by calling the 24/7 Crisis Line at 303-615-9911.

Counseling Center Services

We are currently offering both in-person and virtual services in order to best meet the needs of our students. New clients are always welcome and we will continue our daily Triage services for emergencies and crises.

For any mental health-related concerns, please call 303-615-9988 leave a voicemail message with your telephone number and 900 ID# enabling Counseling Center staff to return your call promptly, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Closed for lunch 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.  and on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. except Summer Semester). After 4:30 p.m., and on weekends and holidays, you may call our 24/7 Crisis and Victims’ Assistance Line at 303-615-9911.

Online Assessment

Many students have little, free, unscheduled time to pursue the types of self-care that they would like. We have made it possible for you to do an online screening for eating disorders, alcohol, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and bipolar disorder through our website. After clicking on the button below use “METROSTATE” for your password. Then select the screening that you would like to take. Results are communicated instantly. Share your results when you come in for a visit.

Clinical Training Opportunities

The MSU Denver Counseling Center offers clinical training opportunities for graduate students from clinical and counseling psychology doctoral programs.
